Georges Hübner is a senior professor of finance at HEC Liège, the Management School of Liège University (Belgium). Georges also serves as a non-executive director at Belfius Bank SA/NV, where he chairs the audit committee and is a member of the risk committee. In 2016, he was appointed as chair of the French Finance Association (AFFI), of which he is currently a board member. Academically, he also holds affiliate and visiting professor positions at the EDHEC Business School, the University of Luxembourg and the Aix-Marseille University. He was a part-time associate professor of finance at Maastricht University from 1997 to 2018.

Georges has published numerous books and research articles about, inter alia, asset pricing, venture capital, hedge funds and portfolio performance in internationally renowned scientific journals. He obtained Best Paper awards from the Journal of Banking and Finance and from Revue Finance.

He was the founder (2007) and initial CEO of Gambit Financial Solutions, a spin-off company of HEC Liège, in which BNP Paribas Asset Management took a majority stake in 2017. He also serves as a director of Finective, an alternative investment fund registered in Luxembourg, and is a member of the investment committee of robo-adviser Birdee and a member of the Financial Consultative Committees of the FRS-F.N.R.S. and the University Foundation (Belgium).
He holds an MSc in management from the University of Liège and a PhD from INSEAD (France).
