Jean-François Vaccaro has more than 25 years of international experience in finance, total rewards, pensions and employee benefits, gained through consulting, corporate leadership and advisory roles. Since 2021, he has been Director for Compensation and Benefits at the European Patent Office.
Previously, he served as Chief Actuary of the Nestlé Group and was a member of the Management Committee and Executive Board of Nestlé Capital Advisers. He also served as Secretary to the Corporate Pension Board, chaired the Nestlé Pan-European Cross-Border Pension Fund and was a member of the boards and committees of several of the Group’s pension funds.
In these roles, he was responsible for the strategic planning, design, implementation and financial management of pension programmes across more than 40 countries, including funded defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans. Since 2019, he has also acted as an independent pension adviser, supporting multinational companies and pension funds in pension plan and investment design, governance, fiduciary responsibilities, mergers and acquisitions, and operational compliance.
Earlier in his career, he worked as an actuarial and benefits consultant, advising corporate clients and pension funds on actuarial valuations, pension plan design, funding and governance.
Jean-François is a qualified actuary, a member of the Swiss Association of Actuaries, and a Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA) and member of the Swiss Financial Analysts Association.
His professional experience combines actuarial, financial and governance expertise in the design, funding and oversight of occupational pension schemes in an international environment.
