Kate Yates is Group Pensions & Trustee Services Director at Lloyds Banking Group, and a strategic pensions leader driving innovation across large and complex defined-benefit and defined-contribution pension schemes, with proven governance, communication, operational and management experience.

From 2016 to 2024, Kate was CEO for Plumbing Pensions, one of the UK’s largest industry-wide, multi-employer defined-benefit pension schemes. Prior to that, she was a Scheme Actuary for a range of defined-benefit pension schemes.

Kate was a member of the Pensions UK Defined-Benefit Policy Committee from 2015 to 2026. She is a Fellow of the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries and holds a first-class honours degree in economics and statistics from the University of Exeter.
