Jan Robinson has 25 years of international experience in accounting and financial control and reporting. She is currently the head of Accounting Services at CERN.
Jan began her career as an auditor in 1994 with KPMG, where she progressed to be a manager supporting a variety of large clients, as well as some not-for-profit organisations.
From 2000 to 2011, Jan held roles in accounting and financial reporting at a variety of companies in London and Amsterdam before joining CERN in 2012. All her roles have included some responsibility for controls and contact with the auditors. For example, at AlpInvest Partners NV she was responsible for the preparation of the annual controls report, and the coordination of its audit. This report was destined for the co-owners and clients, namely two of the Netherlands’ pension funds for civil servants and for employees in the healthcare and social work sectors. Through her various positions, she has gained experience working with external experts on different types of valuations and deliverables.
Since 2012, she has worked in the CERN Finance and Administrative Processes department. Among other responsibilities, the Accounting Services group prepares the financial statements of CERN and is a key point of contact for the external auditors.
Jan is a Chartered Accountant from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (now part of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada), and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary.
