Code of Conduct

CERN Council approved the introduction of a Code of Conduct for the CERN Pension Fund with an effective date of 1st January 2009. The provisions of the Code are similar to those codes of organizations such as SAPI (Swiss Association of Provident Institutions) and the Reserve Fund for Pensions and Social Security of the European Patent Office (EPO) and are based on principles elaborated by the Chartered Financial Analyst’s Institute (CFA) as suitable for Members of a Pension Scheme Body.

Moral and Ethical Integrity
The Code aims to ensure that the Fund is managed on the basis of best practice standards in the Pension Fund industry and in accordance with the fundamental ethical principles of honesty, integrity, objectivity, fairness and competence and in the interest of its members and beneficiaries.
